The Senior Scientist, Cancer Companion Diagnostics Development, will work in a cross-functional team that supports clinical trials testing new targeted anti-cancer drugs, by developing tailored companion diagnostic assays. Agilent Technologies is one of the leaders in the field of companion diagnostics, partnering with various pharmaceutical companies, in order to bring their precision medicine drugs to market. We are looking for a talented and dedicated experienced scientist (Biology, Biochemistry or related field) to join our Research and Development Department. You will work closely with experts in clinical science, regulatory affairs, immunoproduction and quality assurance to develop accurate, robust and precise assays. Your challenge will be to create value for Agilent through innovative ideas that either create new businesses or enhance existing ones. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Researching, developing and applying systems to develop immunohistochemistry assays, in situ hybridization assays, and possibly molecular biology-based assays.
  • Defining and designing the optimal development path for each product within our workflow and adhering to our quality management system framework.
  • Working with internal and external collaborators to employ Agilent's automated staining and labeling solutions for cancer diagnostics.
  • Execution of all aspects of experiments including planning, execution, quantitative data analysis and interpretation while striving to improve assay-related protocols and data analysis methods.
  • Ensuring success through collaboration with your team.

 

 

 

Job Requirements: 
  • MS in Biology, Biochemistry or related field
  • 4+ years relevant laboratory experience in biology and/or biochemistry
  • Proven proficiency in biology techniques including: immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization; knowledge of one or more of these areas a plus: fluorescent techniques, protein biochemistry, cell biology, tumor immunology and molecular biology
  • Strong quantitative data analysis skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstration of excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with speed and focus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry or related field
  • Work experience in regulated industry desired
