Key Responsibilities:

Research and identify strategic funding opportunities to support Phase 2 clinical trials for patients with rare diseases, including grant and private foundation sources

Support the preparation and submission of grant applications and proposals

Conduct research and assist in outreach to secure investment for alternative indications related to heat shock proteins and broader applications of our novel compound (BF844)

Work alongside the Scientific Medical Director on the development and implementation of clinical research programs

Coordinate with contract research organizations (CROs) to manage safety studies, review data reports, and track project progress

Assist in assembling materials for an Investigational New Drug (IND) submission to the FDA following completion of Phase 1 human safety trials

Support strategic planning for Phase 2 trial design

Collaborate cross-functionally with team members to ensure smooth execution of research and regulatory activities

Attend relevant scientific conferences and meetings, and support the preparation of materials as needed

Contribute to the drafting of scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentations

Help track budgets based on statements of work (SOWs) and ensure alignment with timelines and deliverables

Attend vendor and partner meetings and assist with follow-up and documentation

Analyze and interpret scientific data; assist in preparing internal summaries and external presentations

Stay up to date on relevant scientific literature, industry news, and developments in the field

Job Requirements: 

Strong interest in drug development, pharmacology, and rare diseases

Prior experience in clinical research or drug development is helpful but not required

Familiarity with Usher Syndrome Type III or related disorders is a plus

Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

Strong writing and communication abilities are essential

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team setting

Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Workspace; ability to assist with pitch decks and presentations

Grant writing experience is a plus, but not required
