POSITION SUMMARY
The Webb Lab at the Buck Institute is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scientist to investigate the molecular mechanisms of brain aging and neurodegeneration. The successful candidate will have experience in molecular biology and/or neuroscience. A strong bioinformatics or data science background is desirable but not required. Candidates should have a track record of contribution to peer-reviewed publications, innovative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well with a team.
The Webb Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms of brain aging and neurodegeneration, with a focus on transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms. We use a combination of cell-based models, in vivo mouse models, and genomics to interrogate age-related changes and identify new targets to treat age-related cognitive decline and neurodegeneration. The Webb Lab is an inclusive environment, and we welcome individuals from all backgrounds and identities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and perform experiments to interrogate the mechanisms of neuronal aging and cognitive decline.
- Use mouse models and/or cell-based systems to measure molecular features of aging and manipulate candidate targets.
