Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and records patient’s progress, modifying treatment plans as indicated.
  • Restores patient’s function, alleviates pain, and prevents disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy.
  • Provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results.
  • Determines physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
  • Helps patients accomplish treatment plan by administering exercises, manual therapy interventions, and using modalities as necessary.
  • Evaluates the use and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing and noting patient’s progress; and recommending adjustments and modifications.Documents patient care services in a timely and accurate manner in the patient record.Instructs patients in proper in-home exercises and therapies.Educates patients and their families about the recovery process and the challenges they will face.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading periodicals, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances physical therapy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to the profession and organization.
  • Attends meetings as required.

 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Education, Licensure and/or Certifications

  • DPT, MS or BS in Physical therapy from an accredited school.Licensed as a physical therapist in the State of California or eligible.Basic life support (BLS) certification.

Experience

  • One year of physical therapy experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to provide clear health care instructions.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to operate medical diagnostic equipment.
  • Plan health care treatments and treat a wide variety of physical problems.
  • Possess strength and coordination.
  • Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively motivate clients to achieve physical therapy goals.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Exercise complex problem-solving skillsProvide effective instruction and teaching skills.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
