Position Description:
The immuno-oncology group is looking for an exceptionally trained immunologist to join the Powell Lab. The selected candidate will design, create, and conduct innovative approaches to identify critical and novel regulators involved in T cell differentiation during acute infection and cancer with also applications to immune system dysfunction that is found during aging. This position presents a unique opportunity to work alongside scientists with a broad range of expertise at the intersection of basic and translational biology. The candidate will also heavily collaborate across various scientific disciplines to gain new and meaningful insights that can also be studied in immune cells. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a record of achievement in their previous field of study, be highly motivated to tackle complex questions in basic T and immune cell biology and can work both independently and in close collaboration with other groups.
Position Requirements:
- PhD in immunology or related discipline
- Track record of strong productivity in immunology related research, immuno-oncology, or immunometabolism
- Prior experience with mammalian cell culture, mouse primary immune cell culture, multi-color flow cytometry, protein biochemistry, CRISPR technology, molecular biology
- Strong understanding and experience with performing in vivo mouse work (including tissue collecting and processing, I.P, I.V., S.C., P.O.) across diverse animal models (tumor and other diseases)
- Enthusiastic and organized team player with, attention to detail and excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Competency in bioinformatic analysis is a nice plus
- Must be willing to work onsite at least four days per week
The estimated base salary for this role is $90,000.
