The Di Ianni Lab (https://diiannilab.ucsf.edu) at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our fast-growing multidisciplinary team. We are looking for a candidate interested in one or more of the following areas:

  • ultrasound neuromodulation,
  • functional ultrasound imaging,
  • systems neuroscience,
  • deep learning applied to medical image reconstruction.

We are affiliated with the Departments of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Radiology & Biomedical Imaging. Our lab is located in the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences on the Mission Bay campus. Our research is focused on developing cutting-edge technologies for ultrasound neuromodulation, functional ultrasound imaging, and image-guided neurointervention. We are part of the newly established UCSF Focused Ultrasound in Neuroscience program, a multi-departmental effort that seeks to bring together investigators working on clinical and translational applications of focused ultrasound in psychiatry, neurology, neurosurgery, and neuro-oncology. The program offers outstanding opportunities to establish collaborations with clinical and basic scientists.

Job Requirements: 

Ideal candidates should have received a Ph.D./M.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field such as Bio/Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other closely related field by the time the position starts. Candidates should have a strong track record of research accomplishments. Experience working with rodents and with the Verasonics ultrasound research platform is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should also have prior experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Matlab, R). This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse and interdisciplinary team.
