PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Integrated Research Associates is seeking a Research Scientist to lead our Japanese encephalitis virus vaccine research project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS      % of TIME

  • Analyze & present scientific results                                   10%
  • Cell Culture                                                                        15%
  • Upstream and Downstream Process Development           35%
  • Virological, Immunological, and Analytical Assays            25%
  • Molecular Biological Techniques                                       15%

Annual Salary:

$75,000-$95,000 depending on experience                                                                                                                                              

Job Requirements: 

 

Qualifications (Minimum education & experience level required):

  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology or Molecular Virology
  • At least 5 years of experience in molecular biology, virology or related field. 
  • Ability to analyze and present results using graphs and figures.
  • Ability to draft scientific manuscripts and/or grant applications. 
  • Knowledge of computer software, general lab equipment
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of biosafety

Skill requirements (include complexity of position):

  • Recombinant DNA
  • Mammalian and insect cell culture
  • Virology including tissue culture infectious dose & plaque assay and plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT)
  • Tangential flow filtration
  • Analytical assays including SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA & Immunofluorescence

Interpersonal skills (include personal interaction):

  • Strong communication skills
  • Well developed interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to function as both a team member and individual contributor
