The Shain laboratory (https://shainlab.ucsf.edu/welcome-shain-laboratory) is seeking to fill an open position for a paid internship. For this position, the intern will help more senior members of the laboratory perform a combination of wet- and dry- laboratory procedures. The goal of these experiments is to explore the biology of melanoma or cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma – specific projects can be discussed in more depth during the hiring process. Examples of the type of work we perform are shown below.

The candidate MUST be interested and enthusiastic about the overarching work in our laboratory. Previous laboratory experience is desirable, but not required. Traditionally, this position has been filled with a recent college graduate who is interested in augmenting their experience for 2-3 years while applying to graduate or medical school.
