The Department of Biology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor to teach diverse courses including human anatomy and physiology during the 2022-23 academic year, with the possibility of renewal for subsequent years, contingent upon funding approval.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be dedicated to excellence in teaching and will teach courses within the department that may include lower division Anatomy, Physiology, General Biology, and upper division courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The expected teaching load for this position is three lecture courses per semester and may include academic coordination of multiple laboratory sections staffed by part-time instructors. (Coordination of laboratory instructors does not include preparation of lab materials, which is completed by USF technical staff). In addition, the successful candidate is expected to engage in service to the department and college.
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline. A strong record of teaching at the university level and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University of San Francisco are required. The successful candidate must be able to offer their reflection on equity and strategies for success in engaging with BIPOC students.
