Quantitative Breast Imaging and Data Science The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF is seeking a postdoctoral fellow interested in quantitative breast imaging and data science. The fellow will join the Breast Imaging Research Program and work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinical researchers developing imaging and molecular biomarkers to guide breast cancer treatment. The postdoctoral fellow will participate in the I-SPY2 TRIAL Network, UCSF Breast Oncology Program and UCSF Center for Intelligent Imaging. In this position, the postdoctoral fellow will work directly with Drs. Nola Hylton and Ella Jones on NIH-funded studies focused on the evaluation of dedicated breast positron emission tomography (dbPET) for monitoring breast cancer response to targeted therapies.
The position requires a PhD degree in biomedical engineering or a related field, with training in nuclear imaging (PET or SPECT). The ideal candidate should have expertise in handling radioactive materials and performing nuclear phantom studies. Knowledge in MR imaging, breast cancer research and clinical trials is highly desirable. The candidate should have experience in advanced image analysis and machine learning techniques as well as working knowledge of biostatistical methods applied to medical imaging. Working knowledge of software packages including R, Python, C/C++, MatLab, and Unix programming environments is essential. This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for publishing research findings in scientific journals and presenting their work in scientific meetings. In addition to research activities, the postdoctoral fellow will be expected to mentor predoctoral students and participate in training activities for undergraduate students, medical students and visiting scientists.
