The Life Sciences Research Analyst will have an unique opportunity to work on driving towards better understanding and ultimately finding a cure for a rare genetic condition at a non-profit organization by working with leading scientists around the world as well as to learn about how to do investment research and analysis in the life science sector.
Job responsibilities
- Help to drive the scientific research progress in a non-profit organization to better understand and ultimately find a cure for a rare genetic condition
- Help to review, screen and analyze scientific research grant applications with leading scientists in the field
- Work on the approval processes for research grant applications and liaise with different institutes on the grant agreements
- Analyse and interpret complex medical and scientific periodic progress reports submitted by principal investigators of the projects the organization funded
- Work seamlessly in the organization, liaising with different counterparties that the organization works with (research institutes, researchers, pharmaceutical companies, patients etc.)
- Conduct physician and hospital outreach for the purpose of expanding the network of the Foundation
- Keep a healthy dialogue with metabolic/pediatric/hepatology physicians and hospitals to better understand patients, conditions and diagnosis of the disease
- Create a collaboration avenue with researchers that the organization supported to discuss, highlight and inquire on important scientific discoveries and progress in the relevant research
- Keeping our Foundation up-to-date on all the relevant research and scientific developments that may be applicable to our research efforts
- Conduct in-depth analysis of the life science industry dynamics and competitive landscape of the industry
- Perform forensic analysis of specific life science companies, their strategies, management, financial performance, history and development etc.
Job Requirements:
- A PhD in any of the life sciences fields (e.g. biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, medicine, biotechnology)
- Some knowledge in molecular biology/biochemistry is preferred
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to think independently and critically
- Thoughtful and thorough in thinking through issues
- Good communication and project management skills
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools particularly Excel
- Working location can be wherever you will be based; not required to be in Singapore
- Open to remote/part-time working arrangements
