The Bay Area Science Festival is a 10-day, 50-event celebration of STEM, stretching from Santa Rosa to San Jose and reaching 40,000 people annually. Led by UCSF, in partnership with the Bay Area's universities, research labs, and museums, the Festival kicks off and culminates with Discovery Days, hands-on science extravaganzas at Oracle Park and at CSU East Bay. This year's Festival will be April 21 to April 30 [dates not yet public but soon!]. Learn more about the Festival here: https://www.bayareasciencefestival.org/

They are seeking an intern to support Science Festival event planning and management, publicity, partner events and communication, and evaluation. The Intern will be part of a team of SEP Staff members planning the Festival and interacting with partners and volunteers. This work is a mix of “bigger picture” planning and organizing, and down in the weeds details –that is reflective of all of their roles there. The internship will provide a good sense for what it is like to work at SEP and to organize science events. They are especially interested in a candidate with interest in supporting their communication with exhibitors and volunteers. This work may involve designing and leading trainings for industry and university scientists on developing successful exhibits for Discovery Days.
