We are seeking a postdoctoral scholar to work on an NIA-funded project examining the neural effects of combined noninvasive brain stimulation (tACS) and digital meditation on neural activity and cognition in healthy older adults and those with mild cognitive impairment. This is a 2-year position with the possibility of extension pending availability of funding and job performance. This project is a collaboration between multiple PIs, Drs. Adam Gazzaley, Theodore Zanto, and David A Ziegler.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Independently collect functional and structural MRI data from human participants
  • Develop state of the art data preprocessing and analysis pipelines for both resting and task-based fMRI, morphometric analyses, MRS, tractography, and connectome mapping
  • Training and supervision of full-time study coordinators and undergraduate interns
  • Assisting with research protocols and compliance
  • Contributing to data dissemination (poster presentations, manuscript submissions)

 

 

Job Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in neuroscience, computer science, biomedical sciences, physics, imaging physics, or a neuroscience-related field with a strong focus on neuroimaging
  • experience collecting and analyzing functional MRI data using state of the art tools  
  • expertise in computer programming for neuroimaging data (Matlab, Python, etc)
  • proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS)
  • a record of peer-reviewed publications, including those with fMRI data
  • excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • experience working independently
  • demonstrated experience managing research assistants or other staff
  • experience with noninvasive brain stimulation techniques with humans
