A post-doctoral position in the field of nuclear imaging is available within the Breast Imaging Research Program (BIRP) in the UCSF Radiology Department. The successful candidate will support clinical studies using a multimodality imaging approach to characterize primary breast tumors and build predictive models for prediction of outcomes.
The position requires a PhD degree with training in nuclear imaging (PET or SPECT), radiation oncology, bioinformatics or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have expertise in handling radioactive materials, nuclear phantom studies, tumor response assessment through 3D functional quantitative imaging analysis, statistical methods and computational skills to analyze complex, high-dimensional datasets with the interest in machine learning. Experience in R, Python, C/C++, MatLab, and Unix programming environments is essential. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge in breast MR imaging or breast cancer research would be highly desired.
