One Postdoctoral Fellow position is immediately available in Dr. Lisa Wagar’s laboratory (wagarlab.webflow.io) in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics (http://physiology.uci.edu/) and the Institute for Immunology (http://www.immunology.uci.edu/), University of California Irvine. The mission of our laboratory is to investigate the human adaptive immune response to infectious diseases and vaccines using immune organoid technologies, with the long-term goal of improving vaccine design and preventing infectious disease. We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead a study on the immunogenicity of candidate vaccine antigens and investigate what features of human immune responses predict a protective outcome. There will be opportunities to publish research articles and to also contribute to collaborative projects ongoing in the lab.

Job Requirements: 

Successful candidates will have a strong background in one or more of the following research areas: human immunology, organoid technology, and/or infectious diseases and vaccine work. In addition, the candidate should have experience working with primary human samples and be capable of working both independently and in a team environment. Interest in learning about bioengineering or biomaterials, familiarity with flow cytometry, and experience working under BSL2 precautions are a plus.
