Scope of Timeline

Program Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age prior to scheduled start date.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to commit to the full 10-12 weeks’ time frame between June and August.
• Interns will be expected to work 40 hours a week.
• We accept applications from students at all degree levels: BS, MS, and PhD.
• Candidates are eligible to apply to the internship within one year of their last degree attained.
• We do not have a GPA requirement.
• Applicants must have completed at least one year of accredited university or community college course work to be considered for an internship.
• We currently do not offer visa sponsorship to interns.

INTERNSHIP PROJECT SUMMARY:   Sangamo Therapeutics is seeking a motivated and curious engineering student to support manufacturing automation in Brisbane operations. The selected candidate will work with their manager to implement solutions to challenges experienced by manufacturing and QC operations in Brisbane. There are 2 primary areas of focus: enhancing alarm notifications from automated systems, and centralizing data collection for manufacturing equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Evaluate options for enhanced alarm notifications, including considerations for stakeholder feedback, requirements gathering, budget analysis, time to implement, and technical feasibility.
• Following solution identification, the individual will develop an implementation plan and initiate the implementation process.
• Additional focus will be on connecting existing process equipment to plant data historian.
• Gather feedback from manufacturing technicians on critical data produced by equipment.
• Interface with equipment manufacturer and historian vendor to determine appropriate method of automated data transfer.
• Implement solutions, including any necessary business processes.
