How does Stanford PRISM work?
Fill out our online application, including your CV, a research statement, a recommendation from your mentor, and the names of up to six Stanford faculty with whom you would be interested in working. We will work with faculty to determine if there is mutual interest and a possibility to interview with their research group as part of the selection process. In short, PRISM is a recruitment initiative that helps to connect prospective postdocs with labs/groups that have a possible opening on their team. Once selected as a part of the PRISM program/cohort, we provide professional development and ongoing support to this community of postdoctoral scholars.
Check out the PRISM Application Guide for more details about each part of the application and our ever-growing list of faculty who are especially enthusiastic about interviewing PRISM candidates. Also, if you are in a biosciences field, be sure to check out the T32s at Stanford. If you are interested in additional postdoc funding options, you can view a list of some suggested fellowship opportunities via the OPA website shown here.
When held in person, we arrange for selected Cohort Members to travel to campus and stay for 3-5 nights. Over the course of those days, you will have the opportunity to meet with faculty that have been identified as sharing your research interests AND you will also be able to network with several current Stanford postdoc groups.
When held virtually, we host a series of Zoom Events to provide information, professional development, and network building to the selected PRISM Cohort Members. The actual schedule of events will be announced via email closer to the dates of the event.
