 Roles and Responsibilities of the Position

  • Using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) to characterize the kinetics and affinity of antibody/antigen interactions
  • Using SPR and/or BLI for epitope binning and receptor/ligand blocking studies
  • Characterizing protein stability, purity and quality using a variety of techniques, such as dynamic light scattering (DLS), static light scattering (SLS), capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF), size exclusion chromatography (SEC), ion exchange chromatography (IEX), CE-SDS, and SDS-PAGE.
  • Independently performing assay development, troubleshooting and optimization to ensure reliable & accurate results.
  • Clearly documenting experiments and results in electronic lab notebook entries
  • Presenting and discussing results in multidisciplinary group meetings

 

 

Job Requirements: 

 Required Qualifications and Background

  • Ph.D. in life or analytical sciences or equivalent fields, M.S. in these fields with 2+ years of relevant job experience in the biopharma industry or B.S. in these fields with 5+ years of relevant job experience in the biopharma industry. Previous experience with therapeutic antibodies, antibody conjugates, bi and multi-specific molecules, and other modalities is preferred.
  • Experience in characterization of biomolecular interactions using various assays and techniques such as ELISA, SPR (e.g. Biacore), BLI (e.g. Fortbio Octet), and other relevant platforms for characterization of high/low affinities, concentrations, cross-blocking activities, and other product defining characteristics
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with biophysical techniques and platforms for characterization of physical, chemical, and conformational stabilities of biologics
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization software tools such as Graphpad Prism, Spotfire etc.
  • Demonstrated can-do attitude desire to work in a collaborative, cross-functional organization
  • Experience with protein purification and formulation is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and strong organizational abilities
