We are currently hiring a Research Engineer with experience in Machine Learning (ML) and Computer Vision. We have projects that focus on disease mechanisms of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Huntington’s Disease (HD), and Parkinson’s Disease (PD).  The person in this position will own their computational projects, keep up to date on cutting edge research, and propose and realize solutions to impactful problems.

With robotic microscopes, we collect images and time-lapse movies of fluorescently-labeled neurons. We use our microscopy system to extract various types of biological information about how patient-derived neurons with neurological disease variants grow, connect and behave. Engineers in our lab are involved with every step of data acquisition and analysis from programming new features on the robotic microscopes, deploying tools for better image analysis, and analyzing data for disease phenotypes. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, has high standards for themselves, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred skills:

• Advanced degree
• Experience with genomics
