The Jain Lab (https://ishajainlab.com/) at the Gladstone Institutes is looking for a research associate to begin working summer 2022. The scientific goal is to study oxygen metabolism and develop hypoxia/hyperoxia as a therapy for age-associated disorders. This position will require a combination of wet lab molecular biology/biochemistry experiments, as well as animal work. Applicant will be expected to perform a range of experimental techniques (cloning, western blots, protein biochemistry, tissue culture, microscopy, etc.) as well as animal husbandry (maintaining mouse colonies, designing breeding schemes, keeping daily record of body weights/survival/activity, behavioral studies, basic dissections, etc.). They will also be responsible for lab administrative responsibilities, such as maintaining and organizing lab inventory and interacting with buyers/sales reps.
