Heluna Health is hiring multiple Research Analyst II positions to work with the LA County Acute Communicable Disease Control Epidemiology and Data Unit. Selected candidates will be hired by Heluna Health and placed within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. All positions will support COVID-19 response efforts and are fully remote. Out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply as long as they can work Pacific Time hours.
Summary: Assists in planning and conducting research projects involving designs, field studies and surveys relating to detection of COVID-19.
The duties of the Research Analyst II include, but are not limited to:
• Collects, processes and analyses COVID-19 data including the use of such techniques as multiple and partial correlation, multiple regression and simple analysis of variance;
• Prepares reports and recommendations based on research findings and communicates them orally, in writing, or through graphic representations and statistical summaries;
• May supervise clerical personnel in connection with specific research projects;
• Comply with DPH training regarding confidential information related to personal information; and
• Accept responsibility for other duties as assigned.
Specific desirable skills for certain teams include REDCap experience and GIS/spatial analysis experience.

Shifts: Completely Remote; M-F with some possible OT either during the week or over the weekends. (40 hours a week)
Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree in a field of the behavioral or social sciences and one year's post master's research experience -or- a bachelor's degree in a field of the behavioral or social sciences and any combination of relevant education and/or experience totaling three years; and
Desirable Qualifications:
- Windows-based laptop or desktop device, with a speaker and mic;
- Reliable Wi-fi/internet access;
- Knowledge of infectious disease surveillance; and
- Experience in Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) programming and Microsoft Office applications.
