The CDPH Immunization Branch currently has an opening for a Public Health Medical Officer (PHMO) III Supervisor, which has just been posted. The Immunization Branch will also soon be posting a PHMO III Non-Supervisory position. These two position will help implement new California laws on medical exemptions to immunization requirements for school and childcare entry,* and support other projects to prevent vaccine preventable diseases. While these positions will ideally be based at the main Immunization Branch office in Richmond, California, candidates based in other locations may be considered.

Instead of a test, the civil service exam process requires you to submit a state application and college transcript, followed later by a Qualifications Assessment survey based on the position specifications. While a current California medical license is required for hire, applications for both the civil service list and the position will be accepted if your California license in process. Candidates for these three positions do not need to be pediatricians.
