Healthcare Staffing Professionals (HSP) is hiring a Public Health Investigator to work with the LA County Acute Communicable Disease Control Epidemiology and Data Unit. The selected candidate will be hired by HSP and placed within the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. This position will support COVID-19 response efforts.
The Public Health Investigator will conduct COVID-19 case investigations in collaboration with Public Health facilities and MD Offices. The candidate will review medical records for medical history, treatment and all relevant information regarding the disease incident. The candidate must be bilingual in Spanish.
The position will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and is initially funded through 2/22/2022 with potential renewal.
Pay Rate: $34.42/hr working 40 hours a week
Benefits: Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Time, PTO

Shifts: M-F with some possible OT either during the week or over the weekends. (100% Telework)
Job Duties
- Case investigations including collaboration with facilities or MD offices.
- Review of medical records for medical history, treatments, and all relevant information regarding the disease incident.
- Case interviews regarding difficult and sensitive information/circumstances.
- Access to application Lexis Nexis, Orchid.
- Death Certificate match assessment/entry
- Data entry
Desirable Qualifications:
- Windows-based laptop or desktop device, with a speaker and mic;
- Reliable Wi-fi/internet access;
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Bilingual Spanish. Prior experience with COVID-19 case investigations and contact tracing
