THE COMPANY

Interline Therapeutics leverages capabilities in protein biophysics, proteomics, structural biology, and computational chemistry to elucidate protein communities and develop new medicines that target key drivers of inflammation and cancer.

Interline is creating a culture centered around our dual commitments to patients and employees. We believe that if we prioritize science and innovation, empower one another, and have fun, we will significantly improve the lives of patients. We are growing a diverse and inclusive team with individuals that are action-oriented and united by common values.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Protein Scientist to join our Lead Discovery team. In this role, you will play a key part in the discovery and advancement of small molecule drug candidates, by enabling protein expression and purification activities for biochemical, biophysical, and structural enablement. You will use state-of-the-art technologies to design, generate and characterize recombinant proteins to characterize protein-protein and protein-small molecule interactions. You will have the opportunity to advance drug discovery campaigns and work closely with an experienced team of interdisciplinary scientists. You will work collaboratively with scientists from cross-functional disciplines, and present findings within project teams and to senior management.

The successful candidate should have a strong desire to learn new technologies and the ability to incorporate new methodologies into your work. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, resourceful, organized, and enjoy working in a dynamic team environment.

 Key responsibilities include:

  • Protein construct design and expression testing in E. coli, insect cell, and mammalian expression systems
  • Generation of highly pure and well-behaved proteins and multi-subunit protein complexes using various chromatography techniques
  • Protein quality assessment, characterization, and optimization using various assays (DSF, DLS, SEC-MALS, LC-MS, etc.)
  • Further build on protein sciences capabilities including automation and implementation of new technologies and insights from structure predictions
  • Cross-functional project team collaboration, including program enablement and lead identification

The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $142,700.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology, or related field with 2+ years of post-degree experience
  • Expertise in construct design, protein expression and purification from bacterial, insect cell, and mammalian expression systems
  • Knowledge of expression platforms, purification systems, and analytical techniques (e.g., AKTA, HPLC/MS)
  • Proficiency with using analytical techniques (SEC-MALS, DLS, DSF, LC-MS) to characterize proteins
  • Familiarity with the development of high throughput methodologies and automated technologies for protein construct screening and protein purification is desirable
  • Commitment to the highest quality work with a strong track record of scientific accomplishment (publications, presentations, industry experience)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong desire to work collaboratively within a team environment
