POSITION SUMMARY

The Buck Institute is looking for a Projects Manager to plan and oversee projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.  Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Operations, the Projects Manager will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and inform respective parties throughout the project.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary range: $75,000 - $105,000, commensurate with experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise Director of Facilities and Operations with planning, coordinating, supervising, and completing the technical aspects of construction projects.
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively.
  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project budgets to identify potential financial overruns and variances, making appropriate recommendations to alleviate financial implications.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Consistently update various parties regarding project strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Participate in vendor/contractor selection including defining the terms of contract agreements.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and work is completed satisfactorily. Monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in new hire interviews and quarterly reviews.
Job Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Construction, Engineering, Industrial Design, Project Management, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education in a facilities or construction related field which includes project management (i.e., planning, resource management, scheduling, and quality assurance)
  • CCM or PMP preferred
  • Outstanding communications skills to accommodate a wide range of personnel
  • Ability to lead project teams
  • Basic budget and financial planning skills
