The Center of Excellence in Pediatric Hemorrhagic Stroke Research at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital is seeking applicants for a two-year funded postdoctoral research fellowship. Fellow 1 (of three funded fellowship positions) will participate in the Center’s Project 1, entitled “Predictors of Growth, Recurrence, and High-risk Features in Pediatric Brain Arteriovenous Malformation (bAM).” This retrospective/prospective cohort study will enroll children with bAVMs, the most common cause of pediatric hemorrhagic stroke, and investigate advanced imaging features and molecular factors associated with bAVM dynamic changes and hemorrhage. For this position, we are seeking applicants with advanced skills related to imaging post-processing and analysis, computational bioinformatics, and/or experience working with large-scale sequencing or expression datasets. Because Project 1 is multidisciplinary, the Fellow will have the opportunity to interact and work closely with multiple teams involved in clinical, imaging, sequencing, and plasma biomarker analyses

The selected fellows will develop Individual Development Plans (IDP) under the guidance of the Center Training Director. The fellows will also benefit from the broader Network of Centers of Excellence in Hemorrhagic Stroke Research. This includes annual Network retreats, opportunities to visit other Centers for training experiences, and a curriculum specifically designed for Hemorrhagic Stroke postdoctoral fellows by the Network Training Center.
