Position Summary The Newman Lab studies how signaling metabolites regulate aging mechanisms and applies these insights to address key clinical challenges. We seek a motivated and creative scientist to lead projects spanning biochemistry to translational applications in a dynamic and collaborative environment, under the mentorship of a physician-scientist. This is a 100% on-site position. Position Description We are engaged in multiple projects exploring aging biology within biospecimen-rich clinical trials and cohorts. Our objectives include:

  • Evaluating biological proof-of-concept for interventions, such as ketone esters, that may modulate aging mechanisms.
  • Analyzing biomarkers of aging in clinical cohorts with accelerated aging conditions.
  • Investigating the role of aging biology in geriatric syndromes.

The selected candidate will take on an operational leadership role in an ongoing or new geroscience clinical study. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day study activities, leading data and biospecimen analyses, and contributing to grant writing and scientific publications. This role involves:

  • Biospecimen processing and analysis.
  • Bioinformatic analysis of complex multi-omic datasets.
  • Close collaboration with bench scientists, core facilities, and external clinical research partners.

This position provides training opportunities to develop expertise in translational research, preparing the candidate for a career in this field.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Opportunity to work in a cutting-edge, collaborative research environment using state-of-the-art techniques.
