The Elahi Lab is located at the University of California, San Francisco Mission Bay campus. The lab is affiliated with the UCSF Memory and Aging Center, the SFVAMC, and the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. 

The Green laboratory is in the Division of Neuroimmumology and Glial Biology and a member of the Innovation Program for Remyelination and Repair. The laboratory is in the Department of Neurology and part of the Weill Institute for Neurosciences at the University of California, San Francisco.

We are recruiting a highly motivated and creative scientist to join the Elahi lab as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to study retinal abnormalities in neurodegenerative disease in collaboration with the Green Lab. The project will be focused on understanding the role of vascular disease contributions to neurodegenerative disorders. We seek highly motivated candidates with a record of productivity, and prior experience with retinal imaging and programming. Additional knowledge of brain imaging, vascular disease biology and/or neuroscience (or related disciplines) would be considered as assets.  Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing and presenting research findings at meetings, helping write scientific manuscripts, and applying for fellowships and other research funding. 

The department also has a postdoctoral fellow training program focused on mentorship, networking, and recognition.

Duration: Minimum of 2 years with advancement to the second year contingent upon satisfactory progress during the first year. The appointment may be extended beyond 2 years depending on funding and satisfactory performance.

Job Requirements: 

The successful candidate will have an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD (or equivalent) degree, solid publication record, exemplary written/verbal English communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to take initiatives and work independently.
