The Elahi laboratory is located at the University of California, San Francisco Mission Bay campus. The lab is affiliated with the UCSF Memory and Aging Center, the SFVAMC, and the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. 

We are recruiting a highly motivated and creative scientist to join the Elahi lab as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to study the role and contributions from endotheliopathies to neurodegeneration in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementias. We seek highly motivated candidates with a record of productivity, and prior experience with molecular biology techniques, including work with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), extracellular vesicles, and biofluid proteomics. Additional knowledge of vascular disease biology and/or neuroscience (or related disciplines), and big data analytic skills would be considered as assets.  

Responsibilities include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, preparing and presenting research findings at meetings, helping write scientific manuscripts, and applying for fellowships and other research funding. 

The department also has a postdoctoral fellow training program focused on mentorship, networking, and recognition.

Job Requirements: 
  • MD, PhD, or MD/PhD (or equivalent) degree
  • Solid publication record
  • Exemplary written/verbal English communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to take initiatives and work independently.
