The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and School of Pharmacy (SOP), in conjunction with the MOC, is pleased to offer a two-year Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship designed to develop and strengthen outcomes-based research skills for individuals seeking work in managed care, health policy, government/public service, the pharmaceutical industry, or academia.

Scope

The fellow will collaborate with members of the outcomes research communities at UCSF including economists and statisticians. The fellow will develop and strengthen skills in big data analytics using qualitative research methods related to pharmaceutical economics and patient-centered outcomes. The fellow will have the opportunity to attend seminars delivered by world-class researchers covering various technical areas of interest including outcomes research methods, pharmacy administration, economics, and pharmacoepidemiology.

Activities are tailored to fellowship projects and may include: cleaning and managing large datasets, performing advanced data analyses and hypothesis testing, and reviewing and drafting research protocols. Ultimately, the program seeks to enhance the fellow’s knowledge of scientific literature evaluation, research design, pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research while providing training and experience in these fields. Training will include cost-utility, cost-effectiveness, and/or cost-benefit analysis design and aim to foster an understanding of how pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research methods can be combined to inform decision-making processes.

The fellow will have opportunities to publish and/or present data at professional meetings.
