The Ortiz Lab is dedicated to exploring the field of RNA biology in melanoma. We are seeking a skilled RNA Biologist to join our dynamic team and contribute to research oncogenic lncRNAs, explore RNAs as targets for melanoma treatment, optimize delivery mechanisms for ASO and siRNA treatments. Learn and apply quantum mechanics analysis to improve the delivery of RNA-targeted therapeutics.
Qualifications and Skills:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology).
- Experience in designing antisense constructs (ASO, siRNA).
- Experience in cell culturing.
- Experience in designing and optimizing delivery systems for RNA therapeutics.
- Experience in in vivo work with rodents.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Execution of standard wet-work bench experiments (Immunoblot, RNA extraction, qRT-PCR).
Job Requirements:
- Design antisense constructs, including ASO and siRNA, to target and deplete oncogenic RNA in in vitro and in vivo experiments.
- Demonstrate expertise and a proven history in RNA biology.
- Working independent and in a team to Design and optimize delivery methods (i.e. nanoparticles and bioconjugates) for RNA-targeting molecules.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in RNA biology and drug delivery technologies.
