The primary aim of this program is for Genentech scientists to train postdocs to conduct research of the highest possible quality and publish the results in top-tier journals.
A Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry or Organic Chemistry is required. The candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of polymer synthesis, degradation mechanisms, modification and characterization techniques. Hands-on experience in conducting ring-opening, living radical and condensation polymerization reactions and polymer characterization using NMR, DSC, GPC and rheology is necessary. The candidate must have an excellent publication record and possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
