The Apsel Winger Lab is looking for a motivated postdoctoral research associate to join our newly established lab. The focus of the lab is to determine the functional impact, mechanism, and drug sensitivity of kinase mutations (Cancer Research: PMID: 31270078; Cancer Discovery: PMID: 33563661; Clinical Cancer Research: PMID: 37725576). The postdoctoral fellow will elucidate the molecular mechanism by which kinase mutations lead to kinase activation and differential sensitivity to various kinase inhibitors. The mutations evaluated will be found through clinical next generation sequencing of both patients from UCSF and from larger cancer databases. The overall goal is to expand the number of kinase mutants for which targeted therapy options for patients exist.
- PhD in chemical biology, molecular biology, or related fields
