The investigator will analyze the molecular function of candidate oncogenes and tumor suppressors using various model systems. There will be opportunities to validate findings in patient samples, including with spatial transcriptomic and other molecular techniques.

We are looking for curious, ambitious and highly-motivated candidates interested in working in a collaborative environment with an interest in translational cancer genomics. The ideal candidate must have a PhD in cancer biology or a related field.

The Yeh lab is located in the UCSF Helen Diller Family Cancer Center an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center -- a dynamic and interactive community which brings together hundreds of basic researchers and clinicians dedicated to the translation of promising ideas into treatments for cancer patients.

Requirements:

  • Ability to collaborate with team members with different backgrounds and levels of training.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Documented track record of scientific achievement.

Expertise in several of the following areas with a desire to master others:

  • Cancer genetics and evolution
  • Molecular biology and biochemistry
  • Cell culture, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence
  • Transgenic and conditional mouse models and xenograft models
  • Tissue biology and histopathology
  • Analysis of genomic and other types of high throughput data
