Position Title: PHR Graduate Research Assistant
Hours: 200 hours with a maximum of 20 hours in any given week.
Compensation: $25/hour not to exceed $5,000
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct original research and updates or expands upon existing research, primarily with resources in the UCSF Archives & Special Collections (ASC), related to various university history topics.
- Assist with research at other California institutions which may require in-state travel.
- Write summaries and reports, creates timelines, historical essays, fact sheets for specific historical subjects based on this research.
- Collaborate with the ASC staff to identify materials for digitization.
- Identify source information and creates detailed bibliographies for research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews.
- Collaborate with other university departments/committees, and/or community organizations on projects related to university history.
Job Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience conducting research in an archives setting, familiarity with historical document searches and citation protocols.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills and experience managing projects.
- Strong writing, editing, and copy-editing skills.
- Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through historical methodology and archival practice.
