The PROGRAM

Alameda County Public Health Department’s California Children's Service (CCS) Medical Therapy Program (MTP) provides physical and occupational therapy services to children and youth with complex special health care needs in outpatient clinics called Medical Therapy Units (MTUs) located on public school sites.

The MTP team includes PTs, OTs, Public Health Nurses, Social Workers, and physicians who collaborate with community based medical providers, schools, and the Regional Center of the East Bay in the provision of comprehensive care to children between the ages of 0-21 years old.

The MTP practices a family-centered care approach to therapy services. We strive to partner with our clients and their caregivers to develop a therapy plan that reflects the needs and abilities of each child.

The MTP strongly supports the use of evidence-based practice and offers generous continuing education and mentoring opportunities.
