   A postdoctoral appointment is available under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Hope and Sara St. James at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and will include collaborations with the department of Radiation Oncology. The project will involve characterization of imaging systems (SPECT/PET/MRI) to aid in the field of molecular radiation therapy dose calculations (including but not limited to peptide receptor radiation therapy dose calculations). Candidates will also be involved in PET harmonization on PET/MRI systems. UCSF is at the forefront of the field of targeted radionuclide therapy and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to present research methods and scientific findings at national and international conferences and is expected to publish their results in peer-reviewed journals.  

Job Requirements: 

Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, bioengineering, physics, or a related discipline. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming (Matlab, C, Python etc) and excellent oral and written communication skills. Either a background in medical imaging (PET, SPECT, CT, MRI etc) or a background in radiation therapy (dose calculation) is desired along with an understanding of Monte Carlo methods.
