Responsibilities

QAI Coordination:

  • Understand, practice and help support the use of QI methodologies, including the Model for Improvement, to promote and strengthen a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the organization
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the key QA/I programs and agencies to which MCC is accountable and serve as a resource for the organization around the specific metrics and reporting requirements relevant to each entity.
  • Support the collaborative development, documentation, implementation and evaluation of population health management strategies and work plans that pertain to QI metrics and priorities
  • Work with the IT department and the Lead IT Clinician, to improve and reinforce standardized documentation and data entry workflows in the medical and dental EHRs and any external registry systems important to QA/I work
  • Help train and support MCC clinical providers and staff to access, interpret and act on data that is relevant to their roles and improvement efforts.
  • Other duties to support the Department, as assigned
  • Support the dissemination of QI workflows and best practices organization-wide through written and verbal QA/I updates, manuals, quick guides, multimedia presentations, webinars, videos, etc.
  • Create QI/A related presentation material for various internal and external audiences and occasionally present and interpret information for key stakeholders.

Data Management:  

  • Produce and manage data to support both the internal and external monitoring, reporting and process improvement needs of the department and the organization, primarily by utilizing a SQL-based reporting and data visualization software platform (Relevant).
  • Generate and deliver standardized reports and data sets for specific improvement programs and grants within required deadlines especially focusing on measures impacting community health clinics (ex. NCQA PCMH accreditation, Partnership Health Plan Quality Incentive Program (QIP), HRSA UDS reporting, etc).
  • Develop customized reports by utilizing the SQL-based reporting system, dashboards and registries to respond to specific data requests by clinical and operational directors and their respective teams.
  • Work with QI team to help interpret data driven best practice recommendations to improve patient care and quality metrics.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all data produced by the department by assisting with audits and data validation approaches that is inputted into NextGen and reported out by SQL-based data analysis software (Relevant).
  • Conduct periodic data validation audits to ensure data reported is accurate and help set data priorities for improved data stewardship.
  • Maintain up-to-date working knowledge and inventory of reporting requirements from governing entities, funders, quality oversight agencies, as well as MCC policies and procedures.  
  • Use electronic medical records software and registry tools to report and audit clinical information.
Job Requirements: 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS education preferred, with at least 2 years of qualifying work experiences, preferably in healthcare.
  • SQL writing experience, preferably in Healthcare application.
  • Experience with HRSA, Quality Improvement Incentive Programs, and Patient Centered Medical Home data preferred.
  • Must have experience working with MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point, and Outlook).
  • Electronic health records experience is highly preferable (NextGen experience a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to work in a team based department and collaborate on projects.
  • Requires advanced critical thinking skills to analyze complex data.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to organize multiple priorities in fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are necessary to perform the functions of this job. Spanish is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Travel to MCC Clinic in San Rafael, Novato and Larkspur sites may be required as needed.
