As Head of Bioinformatics, you will oversee the development of algorithms that will enable our products to detect, predict, and prevent heart disease. You will build the team and infrastructure to decipher the patterns in large data sets that help guide the product direction. You will leverage your deep understanding of both data science and physiological processes to facilitate seamless communications between our engineering and clinical teams. You will help design key validation and outcomes studies, lead the analysis of results, and publish the findings in prominent journals.
Your role at Bodyport:
- Validate Bodyport’s algorithms to demonstrate product accuracy within diverse subject populations
- Design and develop predictive machine learning algorithms from Bodyport’s unique signals and biomarkers
- Leverage Bodyport's datasets to develop new insights and find new patterns that help predict disease
- Provide design input specifications, requirements, and guidance to software engineers for algorithm implementation
- Help manage the design, coordination, and deployment of clinical trials and validation studies
- Draft scientific and medical manuscripts for publication in journals and for presentation at conferences
You'd be a good fit if you have:
- MS or PhD in bioinformatics, data science, or other relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in a data role, ideally working on product in healthcare or life sciences
- 2+ years in a leadership or senior position
- Deep understanding of human physiology and computational biology
- Expertise in machine learning, data mining, algorithm development, and signal processing
- Prior experience designing and overseeing clinical trials for medical devices or therapeutics
- Experience developing algorithms for medical devices or other healthcare products
