Hello!

My name is Benjamin J. Lin, D.M.D. , and I am the owner of Custom Dental in Bakersfield, CA. Although my office’s name is Custom Dental, it is by no means a corporate office. We are a private family dental practice with capacity for 2-3 general dentists. At this time, we are looking for another dentist to join our team. At a minimum, a good candidate would have at least 1 year of actual work experience, or perhaps have completion of an AEGD or GPR program. This would be perfect for a dentist who is tired of working at a corporate chop shop and is looking for a positive change. Our office is all digital and we only use quality materials and equipment. We have been open since 2007 and have a well established patient base that continues to have exceptional growth every year.

Bakersfield, CA is a wonderful city to raise a family in and the cost of living is amazingly low! I have grown to appreciate this after having lived in Bakersfield for so many years. According to NerdWallet.com’s cost of living calculator (https://www.nerdwallet.com/cost-of-living-calculator/compare/bakersfield-ca-vs-los-angeles-long-beach-ca), if I were to move away from Bakersfield to Los Angeles, I would have to make 40% more per year to enjoy a comparable level of cost of living that my family and I have been enjoying here in Bakersfield. This means if I were making $208,000 ($800 per day for 5 days a week for 52 weeks a year) in Bakersfield, I would need to make $292,037 in Los Angeles to maintain the same quality of living! FYI, according to Payscale.com( https://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=Dentist/Salary/0e0cba3a/Los-Angeles-CA ), the average dentist salary in Los Angeles is only $144,190. Bakersfield is a phenomenal place to be a dentist!

With that said, here are some details of the position available:

-Each doctor only sees one patient at a time, which allows you to do the kind of dentistry that your patients and you both deserve. Of course, your patient scheduling is flexible and you will be able to fine tune it to meet your individual speed and needs.

-The scope of expected dentistry includes, but is not limited to amalgams, composites, crowns/bridges, restoring implant crowns/bridges, exams/prophies, scaling and root planning, perio maintenance, simple and surgical extractions, simple endo, and some pediatric patients. You are encouraged to refer out whenever you deem difficulty or risk as unacceptable.

-Compensation will start with $800 guaranteed base pay per day with a legitimate bonus system based on percentage of production. $800 a day for five days a week for 52 weeks a year comes out to $208,000 per year annual base earnings for a full time schedule. Yearly production bonuses will augment these base earnings. Employees are permitted to request time off with advanced notice, however, these days off will be unpaid as will any days you are not scheduled to work (such as federal holidays). You will only be paid for actual days worked.

We hope to find a long term team member who possibly could stay and take on a more managing role someday. Future plans are flexible! Please feel free to check us out on Yelp (search for Custom Dental in Bakersfield, CA) and visit our website at www.CustomDental.com. Please submit resume to [email protected] for consideration. Thank you for your interest in joining our team. I look forward to hearing from you.
