As a Ramapo staff member, you will develop the skills you need to succeed with a broad range of young people. You will learn to understand behavior as communication. You will learn how to create environments that celebrate strengths and enable all young people to feel a sense of belonging. You will work hard every day you are here, and learn more than you ever thought possible.
A summer at Ramapo acts as an internship experience for many of our staff. We are happy to work with our staff to fulfill the internship requirements of their college program, including hours and supervision.
As a Camp Ramapo counselor, you’ll benefit from:

-Hands-on experience working with young people with a wide range of needs and abilities
-Access to a professional network, including year-round staff members, board members, and staff alumni with careers in Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, and related fields
-Housing and meals on our 250-acre campus in the beautiful Hudson Valley, plus a stipend and travel bonus
-On-site, nationally-accredited college course, Fieldwork in Special Education; up to 6 credits may be earned up to the discretion of your program
-Internship, fieldwork, and/or community service hours
Duration:
6/15/24-8/17/24 or 7/21/24-8/24/24
Compensation:
$2,400 (plus a travel stipend, college/internship credits, housing, and meals)
Many counselors are students and emerging professionals in the fields of Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, and related fields, but no previous experience in this type of work is necessary. We do ask you to exemplify the following: patience, commitment, a readiness to learn, and a willingness to be of service to others.
