Population:
Nursing
- Provides patient care for primary care patients, children and adults.
- Participates in quality management activities as assigned by the Medical Director.
- Conducts and consults patient assessments with Medical Director as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Current California Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current California license issued by the Board of Registered Nurses of California.
- Current registration issued by the DEA allowing the prescription of drugs.
- Current BLS certification.
- Nurse Practitioner with at least 1-2 years of directly related NP experience is required or completion of NP residency.
- Proficiency in medical Spanish is required.
- Experience with NextGen Electronic Health Records (EHR) a plus.
- Prior experience working in Community Health a plus.
- Prior experience working with under-served patient population a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to advise, and train NP interns in area of expertise may be required.
