ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST, ONCOLOGY BIOMARKER DEVELOPMENT
Description
The Department of Oncology Biomarker Development (OBD) is seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to contribute to the discovery and development of prognostic and predictive biomarkers to support the development of Roche/Genentech's extensive oncology portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for translational research to enable the development of biomarkers for use in the clinical development of our experimental medicines.
- Experimental responsibilities will include the application of state of the art molecular and genomic technologies to analyze laboratory and clinical samples.
- Data analytics responsibilities will include processing and analyzing clinical trial samples, omics data analysis and presentation.
- Successful candidates will have a PhD degree and at least 6 years of research experience.
- You will have an advanced knowledge of, and experience with, relevant molecular (e.g. DNA, RNA and protein manipulation, etc) and cell biology techniques (e.g. cell culture, transfection, and gene knockdown, etc).
- Preferred candidates will have quantitative and bioinformatics skills in mining large scale omics data sets for clinic studies
- Preferred candidates will have experience in oncology, cancer signaling pathways, development of biomarker assays, and their implementation in clinical trials.
- Candidates must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team with scientists and associates from multiple laboratories, disciplines and departments.
- A proven track record, including authorship of and / or contributions to, publications in top tier journals is required.
