At Recursion, we combine experimental biology, automation and artificial intelligence to quickly and efficiently identify treatments for human diseases. As an Associate on our Early Commercial Strategy team you will work across the High-Throughput Screening, Disease Biology, Development and Business Development teams to ensure programs advance rapidly and successfully. You help will craft the scientific and commercial strategy for our candidate programs, and look for new opportunities of high scientific and commercial potential.

THE PROBLEMS YOU’LL SOLVE

If you can’t decide which you like reading more: scientific papers or HBR case studies, this role is definitely for you. You will bring together an understanding of the biology, unmet need, market potential, and clinical development path for a portfolio of therapeutic programs.

In this role, you will: 

• Find new applications for Recursion’s drug discovery platform. You will be responsible for identifying & assessing new diseases for Recursion to tackle from a scientific and commercial perspective. 
• Be the voice of the patient and our future partners. You will develop a commercial strategy to every program by understanding the perspectives of patients, the interests of potential Pharma partners, and overall market landscape.
• Chart the path for repurposable molecules. You will evaluate the path forward for molecules within our repurposing library, especially proposing compounds for in licensing. You’ll help craft the data package & BD proposal to make repurposing a reality.
• Gain exposure across all aspects of biotech R&D. You’ll work primarily within our Early Commercial Strategy team and have daily opportunities to collaborate with everyone in the organization: Biology, Data Science, Chemistry, Clinical Development and Business Development, just to name a few. 

THE EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED

• PhD in scientific field of relevance to drug discovery
• Demonstrated interest at the intersection of science and business. For example, involvement in investment clubs, consulting clubs, entrepreneurship coursework, or similar biotech-focused activities during your PhD or Postdoc
• Expertise in interpreting and contextualizing data from in vivo and/or in vitro studies
• Familiarity with drug development and FDA approval process
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A passion for biology and the application of science to the discovery of new medicines
